Hello, I am Jackie Cole from Dothan Alabama. I have been painting off and on for 38 years while rearing 3 children, and seriously for the past 5 years. I am 67 and laughingly call myself a "cotton picking woman". My son and friends say don't put yourself down. I do not, I am bragging about being a "cotton picking woman", because it has given me a feel for the earth and all the natural beauty that God gives me as evidence of His presence.
You will find in my paintings a lot of trees and creeks. I love reflexions in the water. I take photos of things that interest me and paint from them. The picture of down town Dothan, I took at night in the rain. The picture I painted is not exaturated from the photo. The rain caused the circles of light around the lights and the reflections in the street were the same in the photo. The next time you are in your city at night in the rain, check it out.
Most of my paintings have been given to family members. About 4 years ago, I joined the Dothan Wiregrass Art League and began to enter some shows. I could hardly believe it when I won $75 for "Choheelee Creek" and sold the original. In addition I sold "Choheelee Creek Moss". I had never made prints of anything but decided it might be time.

The greatest Spirtual thing that has ever happened to me you will see at IN THE LIGHT.US. I just thought I was walking in the Light before God gave me this painting.
